H and Co Serial Manager ("the App") provides serial number and inventory management services ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- read_products: Read product data including titles, descriptions, and variants
- write_products: Create and update product information
- read_inventory: Read inventory levels and locations
- write_inventory: Update inventory levels for serialized products
- read_orders: Read order data from the last 60 days
- write_orders: Create and update order information
- read_all_orders: Read orders older than 60 days for historical serial number tracking
- read_fulfillments: Read fulfillment data to track serial number assignments
- write_fulfillments: Create and update fulfillments with serial number information
Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information once you have installed the App:
- Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name and email address (for account identification and support communications).
- Billing and subscription data processed through Shopify's billing system.
- Application logs including API request logs and error logs for troubleshooting.
What We Do Not Collect: We do not collect personal information from your customers (shoppers), including their names, addresses, payment information, or browsing behavior.
We collect personal information directly from you through your Shopify account. We use essential "Cookies" in the app's embedded admin interface to maintain session security. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org. Our infrastructure providers may automatically maintain "Log files" that track actions occurring on our servers, collecting data including IP addresses for security and performance monitoring.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Specifically, we use this information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain serial number and inventory management functionality.
- Synchronize serialized inventory across your Shopify store.
- Process subscription billing via Shopify.
- Communicate with you regarding support requests.
- Optimize and improve the App's reliability and performance.
We do not use your information for advertising, remarketing, or behavioral targeting purposes.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your personal information with the following third parties to help us provide and operate the App:
- Supabase: Database hosting and management
- Vercel: Application hosting and deployment
We do not share, sell, or rent your data to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the App and maintain accurate inventory records. When you uninstall the App, we comply with Shopify's mandatory data retention webhooks. Store-specific data is generally deleted within 48 hours to 30 days of uninstallation, unless retention is required by law. You may also request data deletion at any time by contacting us.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
